BMBF promotion of demonstrative projects for the radio networking (WLAN) of universities

a project of the chair for Computer Architecture, Department of
Computer Science at the University of Rostock, the existing communication
infrastracture is extended to a university wide available wireless
components with the most modern WLAN technologies.}

the framework of one of the initialised projects (Wireless LAN)
of the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), each
state are assisted in one or two demonstrative projects about
the inisiation of a wireless network infrastracture at German
universities as a part of education. On the basis of experience
at the University of Rostock, interested universities and professional
institutions will receive support from us on behalf of the BMBF
with the introduction, structuring and the operation of a WLAN-infrastracture
at their universities. A part of our informative and counselling
function will be to make available, for example, test results
(with devices of different manufacturers) as well as assistance
with the installation of a WLAN. Further information about the
